Cuddle

This group is the most tireless collection of quilters in the Guild. They coordinate the collection and storage of fabric, construction and distribution of items to local charities.

Cuddle works tirelessly making quilts, place mats, baby blankets, burp cloths, pillow cases, and other items for a huge number of local charities, including: San Pasqual Academy students, Tri-City Oncology, Local seniors’ centers, Balboa Naval Hospital NICU, Polinsky Children’s Center, Foundation for Women Warriors, Angels Foster Family Network , TIP - Trauma Intervention Program, Camp Pendleton Armed Services YMCA, Residential facilities for developmentally disabled adults, Veterans’ charities and more.

In 2023 Cuddle made and donated nearly 2,000 items including:

326 NICU blankets
526 Quilts
375 Placemats
218 Pillowcases
101 Hats
151 Burp Cloths
and more!

Projects are ALWAYS available for completion at Guild meetings; tops to be pieced, quilted, and bound. In addition, the group meets throughout each month at several locations.

Kennel Comforters

Through the efforts of many volunteers, Kennel Comforters makes pet beds for both the Carlsbad and Bonita locations of the San Diego County Animal Services, the Humane Society in Oceanside and Escondido, Rancho Coastal Humane Society, the Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary, Escondido Humane Society Wildlife Center and others, even occasionally Camp Pendleton.

The beds provide comfort, warmth and perhaps a sense of home to our furry friends as they wait for their new families.

In 2023, Kennel Comforters made over 800 pet beds.

DONATION GUIDELINES

We welcome all donations and you can be assured that your contribution will be put to good use! The easiest way to help is to make a donation and allow us to use our discretion as to how to put your donation to work!

However, some donors strongly wish to support Cuddle, and we can accommodate that! Simply write on your check "Cuddle" and the Treasurer will take care of putting your donation to work to support Cuddle.

Do you want to give the gift of Guild membership to someone who can't afford the membership dues? We will never turn anyone away who wants to learn about the beautiful art of quilting or help those in need with our warm, cozy quilts and other items.  You can help us by donating to our "Angel Fund", a special fund we have set aside for covering the membership dues of those who need it. Just write "Angel Fund" on your check.

Making a cash donation? No problem. Put your cash in an envelope or post-it-note. Donations receipts are available.

Unguided donations are the most flexible way to support ECQ and allow us to direct funds to where they are most needed.

In conformance with our non-profit mission, our donations are directed to 501(c)3 charities or military / veteran organizations.
