Ann has a sneaky method of creating fabulous improvisational quilts. Let's start with a few orphan blocks, or create a wonky star in class. Bring your willingness to work outside the box!

IMPROV SUPPLY LIST
Select your fabrics with high contrast in mind. The sample uses yellow, orange, blue and red PLUS a black and white print. Select a color palette that makes you happy!
1. Center block, background. (Used here and in borders) Two 3 ½” strips
Center block, star components. (yellow and orange used in sample.) 3 ½” strip
*You can also bring an orphan block 9” to 12”
2. Multiple borders composed of coordinating fabrics in your chosen palette. You will need: at least one 3 ½” strip, width-of-fabric, of everything, and it won’t hurt to bring extras of your favorites.
3. To finish your project you will also need batting and backing. I prefer felt over regular batting as it doesn’t distort.
In addition, you need to bring your sewing machine, scissors, rulers, mats, thread, etc.
